YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: As was first revealed by the long-legged blond gal at Trulia Luxe, newlyweds Cheryl Hines and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — married last month in front of a slew of rich, famous and/or politically connected at the groom’s famed family compound in Hyannis Port, Mass — shelled out $4.995 million for a landlocked compound in the heart of Malibu’s Point Dume area.

Property records show the gated estate, described in digital marketing materials as a “Connecticut compound in Malibu,” was sold by eight-time Emmy winning composer David Kurtz, primarily known for his two-plus decade long professional associations with the daytime soap stories “The Young and The Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

The tree-ringed and mostly landscaped property spans .86 acres with a single-story, barn-like main house with four bedrooms and three bathrooms in a fairly modest 2,959 square feet. The main house includes a fully wood-paneled Great room — and we’re talking paneled walls and vaulted ceiling — with bone-colored wood floors, built-in shelves and raised hearth fireplace rendered in down-home style used brick. An adjoining sun porch could easily do double-duty as a sun-flooded dining room and a nearby library/media lounge has more built-in shelving and a high-tech integrated surround sound system. Mister Kennedy, by his own word, owns another Westchester County home that this property gossip knows not a thing about.

Miz Hines, whose been in a bunch of movies (“RV,” “Waitress,” “The Ugly Truth”) but is surely best known for her sitcom roles on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and the still—in-producution “Suburgatory,” recently sold her cedar-shingled ranch house in the upper section of L.A.’s swanky Bel Air for $3,105,000. (She paid, in case any of y’all are curious, $2.35 million for the five-bedroom and four-bathroom spread in August 2010.
