Beyoncé Checks Out Chelsea Penthouse

Ever since a (leaked) surveillance video caught Beyoncé’s sister, Solange Knowles, giving her brother-in-law, Jay-Z, a beat down in an elevator at the Standard Hotel after the Met Gala in New York City a couple months ago, all the celebrity blogs and gossip glossies have been relentless that the hip-hop royals are headed for the court of divorce, or at least a separation that will preserve their riches but allow them to lead otherwise separate lives. Adding fuel to the fire this week is the New York Post who reported that pop culturally beatified Beyoncé is said to be “secretly shopping” for her own apartment and recently peeped a 4,045 square foot duplex penthouse in Chelsea listed for $21.5 million. The wall-mounted heat pump (HVAC) contraption and ceiling fan shown in slide one above that piece of art makes me wonder if there’s a heating problem in winter or cooling problem in summer. They are tolerable in a hotel room or cottage, but why here? Maybe the south-facing balcony throws off too much heat, ergo cooking the room in summer, or augmenting against winter drafts is my guess. Odd — and suspicious. Either way, they are eyesores, noisey and do battle with the room’s aesthetic.

Not to be critical but your article have gotten a lot shorter and it’s a little disappointing. I like reading the snarky and sassy comments you have regarding these properties. Please Mama, don’t leave us!

I’m guessing these are an evolution of Mama’s mid-week Mish-Mash tidbits; methinks his editor is responsible for the weekend wrap-up morph.
