Tinseltown bombshell Carmen Electra covertly unloaded her longtime residence in the Benedict Canyon area of Beverly Hills in early April for $3.75 million. The deal went down off-market, so there aren’t digital listing details to consult, but the L.A. County Tax Man pegs the gated and otherwise unassuming single-story ranch house at 2,506 square feet, with three bedrooms, four bathrooms and a kidney-shaped pool. The buyer was a corporate entity linked to (retired) nail polish magnate George Schaeffer, who caught a lucrative case of the Real Estate Fickle and, as first pointed out by eagle-eyed realty yenta Yolanda Yakketyyak, flipped the property just six weeks later in another off-market deal, for $4.8 million.
The new owner appears on deeds and other docs as the same corporate entity that owns the house directly across the street, a monolithic megamansion of about 50,000 square feet that everybody who knows anything about high-octane L.A. real estate understands was custom-built to house Hyatt Hotels heir Tony Pritzker, his philanthropic wife, Jeanne, and their half dozen children.
With Electra’s BevHills house sold, the twice-married former Playboy model and “Baywatch” alum, nee Tara Leigh Patrick, needed a new house to hang her cha-cha heels. As per several of our better-informed sources, who include the inestimable Lucy Spillerguts, Electra has traded in her modestly sized ranch in the 90210 for a much larger, mid-’80s mock-Mediterranean in the Nichols Canyon area of the Hollywood Hills that she surreptitiously scooped up for $2.685 million in yet another down-low deal.
The listing details from when the property last sold in June 2012, for $1.7 million, show the three-story house has 5,255 square feet with three bedrooms and three full and two half bathrooms. A turreted foyer leads to formal living and dining rooms, and a double-island kitchen opens to a family room. Wrought iron railed balconies on the upper floors have canyon views, and a number of rooms on the lowest floor have direct, French-door access to a brick- and flagstone-paved backyard with a pill-shaped swimming pool.
