WATCH: Troika Spotlights Power of Consumers

Creative agency Troika is once again asking auds to consider how the world of mass media, including major entertainment brands like MTV and Kickstarter, have been shaped by increased consumer control.

In the new video “What If: Audience Insights,” Troika explores changes in the industry, like “Veronica Mars” fans raising $5.1 million dollars to fund the film and Louis C.K. working around the traditional comedy system by offering his stand-up special for $5 via online download.

The clip also takes a look at the ways in which advertising has been affected, noting that the three of the top 10 YouTube videos of 2013 were commercials.

“With mass media in the hands of the masses,” the clip reads, “what comes next will be truly revolutionary.”
