USA Network has partnered with Wattpad, a social community of readers and writers, to release the prequel to the network’s new series “Dig.”

“Dig,” created and executive produced by Tim Kring (“Heroes”) and Gideon Raff (“Homeland”), centers around FBI agent Peter Connelly (Jason Isaacs) who, while investigating a murder, uncovers a conspiracy 2,000 years in-the-making.

“DIG: The Official Prequel” on Wattpad follows Peter as he arrives in Jerusalem to solve a multi-million dollar cyber-heist and will take readers right up to the first episode airing on USA. Each week, a new chapter from the backstory will be released.

This marks the first television network partnership for Wattpad, which will provide users with exclusive content from the upcoming series well in advance of its debut.

The 12-part serialized prequel is penned by the “Dig” writers and can be accessed via the Wattpad app and on

The six-episode event series “Dig” also stars Anne Heche and began production on June 1 in Israel, but due to continuing violence in that region, production has moved.

“Given the current situation and after careful consideration, we are relocating the production of ‘Dig’ partly to Albuquerque and are continuing to explore other locations,” said Universal Cable Productions in a statement. “Our experience filming in Israel was very positive and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to capture such an authentic landscape that will be threaded throughout the series.”

“Dig” will premiere in the fall on USA Network.
