Power TV Review Stars

The U.K. won’t be deprived of “Power” — Starz Digital Media, Starz’s global digital and on-demand licensing and content syndication division, has announced that viewers across the pond will be able to purchase the drama online each Monday after new episodes debut in the U.S. on Saturday.

From June 9, the first full episode of the drama is available via electronic sell-through (EST) from Amazon Instant Video, blinkbox, Google Play, iTunes, Sony Entertainment Network, and Xbox Video. Discounted full season purchases are also available. The drama has yet to make a deal for a traditional TV network or subscription video on demand platform in the U.K.

“Enthusiasm from our digital partners in the United Kingdom for the latest Starz Original series, ‘Power,’ led us to give U.K. fans a unique opportunity to purchase episodes the next business day after their respective worldwide premieres,” said Mara Winokur, Senior Vice President of Digital at Starz Digital Media. “‘Power’ is a contemporary drama that will especially appeal to younger demographic audiences. Coupled with strong cross-promotional interest from our partners for Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson’s recently released new album, ‘Animal Ambition,’ which features select songs from ‘Power,’ interest in this market is piqued for the hot new series.”

“Power,” from executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and creator Courtney Kemp Agboh, centers around James “Ghost” St. Patrick, the owner of one of New York’s hottest nightclubs and proprietor of the lucrative drug network hidden behind its facade. The show stars Omari Hardwick, Lela Loren, Naturi Naughton and Joseph Sikora. Mark Canton, Randall Emmett and David Knoller also serve as executive producers. The show is produced in association with CBS Television Studios.
