Sony PlayStation Network Back Up, User Information Safe

Playstation Network Hacked

Sony’s PlayStation Network is functioning again after a group of hackers claimed they took down the service on Sunday.

None of the personal data of the PlayStation Network’s 53 million users was compromised, Sony said in a blog post.

“We have seen no evidence of any intrusion to the network and no evidence of any unauthorized access to users’ personal information,” said Sid Shuman, senior manager of social media for Sony, in his post.

A previously scheduled maintenance of the PSN that was to take place Monday was canceled due to the hack, Sony said.
