Former Sony executive Pete Lude has joined 3D tech company RealD as senior VP.
Lude will head the company’s development and commercialization of proprietary technologies and will work closely with motion picture, television and online production industries to introduce new innovations.
Lude previously served as CTO at Mission Rock Digital, with a focus on re-inventing motion imaging for evolution in digital media. He has also served as senior vice president of Sony’s Silicon Valley research and development labs, and is past president of SMPTE and a SMPTE.
Lude was also founding Chairman of the Laser Illuminated Projector Association, and frequently speaks on the future of broadcast, Ultra HD television, stereoscopic 3D and laser displays.
“RealD has been a prominent force in the introduction of stereoscopic 3D cinema, and I’m excited to help the company as it moves to commercialize an expanded portfolio of innovations in visual technology,” said Lude.
