Murdoch's Sky Deutschland Reups Paramount VOD

Movies will include 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,' 'Labor Day'

LONDON — Rupert Murdoch’s German satcaster Sky Deutschland and Paramount Pictures have extended their multi-year licensing pact.

The pay-per-view and video-on-demand agreement will bring Paramount’s current and upcoming theatrical films to the Sky Select and Sky Select on Anytime platforms.

Movies will include “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit” with Chris Pine and Kevin Costner, and “Labor Day” with Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin, as well as new titles from successful franchises such as “Transformers,” “Paranormal Activity” and “Terminator.”

Gary Davey, executive VP programming at Sky Deutschland, said, “With this newly-extended contract, we can ensure that outstanding films from Paramount will continue to be available on pay-per-view as a part of our extensive Sky Select portfolio.”

Sky Deutschland is the leading pay TV company in Germany and Austria with 3.7 million subscribers.
