Machinima, the YouTube multichannel network for videogamers and fanboys whose backers include Warner Bros., has hired Tricia White in the newly created position of chief people officer overseeing human resources.

White previously was VP of human resources for DineEquity, the parent company of restaurant chains IHOP and Applebee’s, which has about 200,000 employees. She also has served as an HR exec for Starcom MediaVest Group, Citigroup and WebMD, after starting her career at Yum! Brands.

“Tricia will serve an integral role in building a corporate culture focused on delivering excellent execution,” CEO Chad Gutstein said in announcing her appointment.

Over the last two years, Machinima has gone through multiple rounds of layoffs. The most recent cuts came in March with the elimination of 42 positions, about 30% of its staff, in a restructuring of its sales group.

Warner Bros. led an $18 million round of funding in the MCN this spring, which included participation from previous investors Google, MK Capital and Redpoint Ventures.
