Soon you’ll be able to watch a movie trailer on TV — and then buy tickets to go see it, if you have a Samsung television.
Fandango, the movie ticketing and info service owned by Comcast, plans to launch a service in March 2014 on Samsung Smart TVs offering movie trailers and ticketing capabilities. Samsung will show off the feature for the first time at the 2014 International CES this week.
“We are delighted to partner with Samsung as they continue to push the boundaries and benefits of the Smart TV experience,” Fandango prexy Paul Yanover said in a statement.
Built into Samsung Smart Hub, consumers will be able to access and watch movie trailers from the “Movies & TV Shows” panel and purchase movie tickets for current and upcoming movies.
Separately, H&M earlier this week announced a partnership with Samsung and Delivery Agent for an interactive TV shopping app that will pop up on Samsung Smart TVs during the retailer’s Super Bowl ad. That will let users with compatible sets buy clothing from David Beckham’s Bodywear line.
