Amazon Prime Nabs Exclusive U.K. Rights

Sci-fi thriller is produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television

LONDON — Video streaming service Amazon Prime Instant Video has nabbed exclusive U.K. rights to Halle Berry starrer “Extant,” which is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television.

Episodes from the sci-fi series, which is distributed by CBS Studios Intl., will be made available in the U.K. the day after broadcast in the U.S. It preems in the U.K. on July 10.

“Extant” is a mystery thriller about a female astronaut (Berry) trying to reconnect with her family when she returns after a year in space. Her experiences in space lead to events that ultimately change the course of human history.

The series also stars Goran Visnjic, Camryn Manheim, Michael O’Neill, Hiroyuki Sanada, Pierce Gagnon and Grace Gummer.

It is a co-production between CBS Television Studios and Amblin Television. Exec producers are Spielberg, Greg Walker, Mickey Fisher, who wrote the script, Brooklyn Weaver, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. Berry is a co-exec producer.
