Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and “Funny or Die” co-creator Adam McKay will be among the guests on Thursday for the official debut of “PopPolitics,” a weekly one-hour talk show hosted by Variety senior editor Ted Johnson for SiriusXM’s POTUS channel focusing on the intersection of politics and entertainment.
The show, produced in conjunction with Variety, feature entertainment and political figures talking about the impact of showbiz on politics in lively and amusing conversation. “PopPolitics” will be the first Los Angeles- and West Coast-based show for the POTUS Channel, which also features a lineup of programs hosted by Michael Smerconish, Julie Mason, Tim Farley and Chuck Todd.
Last week, the show had a soft launch with guests Howard Gordon, executive producer of “Homeland” and “24: Live Another Day,” and former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, author of a new memoir, “The Mayor.”
The show airs at 11 a.m. PT on the political channel POTUS Channel 124, and will be available on demand. The producer is Charla Boveland.
