Patrick Russo Tapped Partner Shamrock Capital

Patrick Russo has joined Shamrock Capital Advisors as a partner in the private equity firm.

In his new post, he will focus on the media and entertainment business and will be primarily focused on finding ways for the company to invest in content.

“Shamrock has always had an interest in looking at content and focusing in the broader sense of content ownership across film, television, music and the like,” said Russo. “We see opportunities in the growth in international markets, in new platforms and in the changes in consumer behavior.”

Russo joins Shamrock from FTI Consulting where he co-managed the firm’s valuation and financial advisory services group. He was also a co-founder of the financial and strategic advisory firm, Salter Group, which FTI acquired in 2012.

Shamrock Capital Advisors is based in Los Angeles and manages $700 million in capital, which it primarily deploys in the media, entertainment, and communications sectors. Among its current investments are fantasy sports company FanDuel, wireless developer Mobilitie, and cinema advertising company Screenvision.

“At this point in my career, it was an exciting change and opportunity to work with an organization that’s as well regarded as Shamrock,” Russo said.

Prior to forming the Salter Group, Russo served as vice president of the media and entertainment groups at the law firms Houlihan Lokey Howard and Zukin, as well as at SG Cowen.

“Patrick’s breadth and depth of experience serving the media and entertainment sectors is a perfect fit with our firm’s sector-focused approach to private equity,” said Steve Royer, partner of Shamrock. “His specific focus on content complements a number of interesting opportunities and trends that we are seeing in our markets.”
