House Speaker John Boehner will make his first appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Jan. 23.

Boehner is the latest Republican to venture into late-night, with former President George W. Bush having appeared on “The Tonight Show” in November and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) appearing earlier that month.

Boehner’s appearance comes after the House passed a spending bill for the rest of the year, a contrast to last year’s government shutdown over the budget.

Going to miss you on the tonight show. You will well missed. I always loved the great Johnny Carson, but you did fantastic as his replacement. I’m quite sure you have plans for your life after the Tonight Show, but again you will be missed! Best of luck to you Jay Leno!
