“The Goldbergs” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Jeff Garlin has been named roastmaster for the Friars Club Roast of Boomer Esiason, the Friars Club announced on Wednesday.
The roast is scheduled to take place Thursday, January 30, 2014, at a luncheon at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. It falls just a few days before Super Bowl XLVIII, which takes place at nearby MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
Joining Garlin on stage are Friars Club Abbot Jerry Lewis, as well as Larry King, Lewis Black, Bonnie Bernstein, Bill Cowher, Jeff Ross, Craig Carton, Jay Mohr, Carrie Keagan, Michelle Beadle, Chad Smith, Robert Wuhl, Sam Wyche, Ian Eagle, Anthony Munoz and more.
Singer Jordin Sparks is scheduled to perform.
Esiason is a four-time Pro Bowl QB, who also hosts WFAN’s national weekday morning radio show “Boomer and Carton in the Morning.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation, the NY/NJ Snowflake Youth Foundation, an initiative of the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee, as well as the Gift of Laughter Wounded Warrior Program, a project of the Friars Foundation that has responded to the long-term plight and recovery of military service members injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.
