Entertainment Expo Still Growing

HONG KONG – International executives hoping to connect with Chinese film and TV buyers may increase their chances at the still expanding Entertainment Expo Hong Kong (March 24 – April 13, 2014.)

Organizers said Monday that the Expo, now in its tenth year, will feature nine multimedia events including film sales event FilMart, the Hong Kong Asian Pop Music Festival (March 28), the Asian VFX and Digital Cinema Summit (March 25) as well as the Digital Entertainment Summit (March 26.) Missing this year are the Asian Film Awards, which will be held separately in Macau on March 27.

Over the nine previous editions the Expo has welcomed 1.35 million visitors, said HK Trade Development Council executive director Raymond Yip.

FilMart (March 24-27) is expected to host 760 companies from 30 countries. Newcomers include national pavilions opened by South Africa and Brunei, and pavilions operated by the mainland Chinese provinces of Shandong, Sichuan and Guangdong.
