Multiplex cinema

HONG KONG – The Netherlands-based Cine Grand has announced that it has sealed a deal with China’s Time Antaeus Group to build multiplex cinemas in China.

Nirmal Anand, chairman of Cine Grand, said that they plan to open 500 screens in China over the next three years.

“This collaboration with Time Antaeus Group will help us utilize each other’s strengths. Additionally, common sourcing of cinema equipment and other services will also help lower the overall fit out costs,” Anand said.

Time Antaeus, part of the Antaeus Group, is already one of China’s largest exhibitors.

Cine Grand currently has four screens in Ahmedabad, India. A complex with a further four is under construction in Gurgaon.
