Canadian Entertainment-Sports Talent Group Launching in L.A. (EXCLUSIVE)

The Academy of Canadians in Sports and Entertainment – Los Angeles has launched with the goal of promoting Canadian talent in the United States.

The newly minted ACISE-LA is open to acting and directing talent belonging to the trade unions (DGA, DGC, UDA, SAG-AFTRA, ACTRA) as well as Canadian Olympians and athletes who compete for sports franchises (NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, MLS).

Industry veteran Evelyne Morrisseau is the ACISE-LA executive director. She was previously the marketing and partnerships director at Telefilm Canada and marketing partnership management global director for Cirque du Soleil.

The organization has named Emily Hampshire (“Cosmpolis”) as an ambassador. She’s currently shooting the CBC series “Schitt’s Creek” with Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara. Suzanne Clement (“Laurence Anyways”) will be ambassador to Quebec.
