Governor Jerry Brown has appointed Hollywood labor leader Thomas Davis and PR exec Michael Nyman to the California Film Commission.

Davis, 56, is the third international VP of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Executive Board and business manager at IATSE Local 80, which reps grips, craft service, first aid and warehouse workers. A Democrat, he was actively involved in supporting legislation to triple the production incentive tax credits allocated by the commission to $330 million annually over five years. Brown signed the legislation a month ago and the provisions go into effect in July.

Nyman, 50, (pictured) has been chairman and CEO of PMK-BNC since 2010. He founded Bragman Nyman Cafarelli in 1990, where he was chairman and CEO from 2002 to 2009. Nyman, a Republican, is a member of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Board of Governors and the Brentwood School board of trustees.
