My husband took me to see Jean (aka Katherine) several years ago when she was in the St. Louis area. She asked the audience if we watch the show (Y&R), and my husband raised his hand slightly, kind of embarrassed to admit it since he is a man. Katherine was very sharp and funny, though, and proceeded to call him out on it. She called him “you bearded wonder.” (my husband has a beard. Getting to see her, meet her & get her autograph, made it a fantastic birthday. We have been watching Y&R for 40 years! I will really miss seeing her on the show, and my thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and co-workers (her Y&R family). Linda (St. Peters/St. Louis, MO)

To the family of Jean Cooper, let me first extend my deepest heart felt sympathy in the passing of love one. Catherine Chancellor as I knew her TV character was a woman of Sophistication and Radiant Grace. She truly represented fashion and social Grace. No one could show case the many Diamonds, Pendants and Furs like Catherine Chancellor. A Diva she was, a Lady of Grace and social class she was, a lady of richness and elegant fashion she was. Catherine Chancellor you will always live in the heart of fans of Young and the restless. A chapter completed, a paige well turned, a life well lived and a rest so well and deservingly earned. My Mom and I started watching the Y and the R from day one! Donnely Rhodes – the first Mr. Chancellor was a Canadian actor but didn’t last nearly as long as she did. She was FABULOUS! I wonder how the show will treat her passing, I haven’t watched for a while but as a pillar of Genoa City’s upstanding citizenry, I would think it would be something noteworthy. You will be missed dear, dear lady – thank you for all those years as Katherine.
