Net eyes a 2014 debut for new season

BBC America has renewedWild Things with Dominic Monaghan” for a second season, it was announced today.

“I’m excited to travel the world and continue to tell stories about the rare and beautiful animals we share this planet with on season two of Wild Things,” says Dominic Monaghan. “Thanks to all the fans and to BBC America for all their support on a project that means so much to me.”

Series follows Monaghan as he travels to remote areas of the globe to find some of the most exotic animals and insects on the planet. BBC America will bow the second run of “Wild Things” next year.

“The first season of Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan was an amazing thrill ride that introduced viewers to fascinating rare creatures and exotic locales, and we can’t wait to set off on new journeys with Dominic,” said Perry Simon, g.m. of the cabler. “His vast knowledge of these animals and infectious enthusiasm make him the perfect host for this signature BBC America adventure series.”

“Wild Things” is produced by Cream Prods. and Wildfire TV. David Brady and Monaghan exec produce for Cream, and Philip Clarke for Wildfire.
