Vince Gilligan to Speak at L.A.’s French TV Conference

Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan will speak at the first Direct to Series conference at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood Nov. 1 and 2. Subtitled “Original French Content for Global Market,” the confab hopes to showcase French TV content and launch new projects and exchanges between France and Hollywood.

Gilligan will be part of the panel “How to brand your series with iconic locations,” with other participants including Wolf Films’ Danielle Gelber, “NCIS” location manager Tony Salome and “No Limit” screenwriter Franck Philippon with Variety’s Peter Caranicas moderating.

Other panels include “Keys to the Production of a Successful Remake” and “How to Teach Television Writing,” with screenings of French programs including “The Returned,” which is being remade by A&E, “The Line” and “The Tunnel.”
