Pact fortifies Gilligan's healthy relationship with the studio following the close of 'Breaking Bad'

Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan will be sticking around with the studio that produced his AMC phenomenon, as the scribe has signed a multi-year overall deal with Sony Pictures TV.

“Vince is an incredible writer and partner, and he shares our vision for the business and for the kinds of projects we’re passionate about,” added Jamie Erlicht, SPT president of programming and production.  “There wasn’t a world where we weren’t making this deal.”

Gilligan’s new projects already stationed at the studio include CBS’s “Battle Creek,” and AMC’s “Breaking Bad” spinoff “Better Call Saul.”

“With Vince, you forget you’re working and just become a fan,” said Zack VanAmburg, president of programming and production for Sony Television.  “His stories are captivating, his energy is electric, and his friendship is appreciated.  We’ve had such success together, and can’t wait for all the great things to come.”
