Cabler partners with Weinstein Company on pro-rodeo reality series
Niche reality skeins served A&E well in 2012, and the cabler has kicked off the new year by teaming with the Weinstein Company, greenlighting unscripted series “Rodeo Girls.”
Program centers on the world of femmes on the pro rodeo circuit, and features a look into the competition as well as the drama between the women.
“We are thrilled to be working with the Weinstein Company on ‘Rodeo Girls,’?” said David McKillop, exec veep of programming for A&E and Bio. “The women of the competitive barrel-racing world are formidable athletes living sensational lives and we are excited for our viewers to go along for the wild ride.”
“Rodeo Girls” is exec produced by Meryl Poster, Barbara Schneeweiss, Roe Baker and Darcy Lapier for TWC. Stephen Land serves as executive producer for Jupiter Entertainment, as do David McKillop, Elaine Frontain Bryant, Lily Neumeyer and Devon Graham for A&E.
A&E also announced that “Bates Motel,” its latest scripted drama, will debut on Monday, March 18.
