TBS, which continues to stockpile original comedies, has ordered the pilot “Do It Yourself.”
Project comes from Walt Becker and “Cheers” alum Rob Long, and both will exec produce. Story centers on a twentysomething laid-off math teacher who finds himself thrust into the blue collar world when he gets a job at a big box home supply store. He quickly becomes the de facto leader of his band of misfit coworkers while also figuring out ways to redefine what it means to be a teacher. Long is also one of the creative forces of TBS laffer “Sullivan & Son,” which received a 10-season second-season order in the fall. TBS recently brought “Cougar Town” on board from ABC and is awaiting a second season on “Men at Work.”TBS orders ‘Do It Yourself’ pilot
