Showtime is nest for ‘Eagles’ documentary

Cable network acquired rock doc at Sundance

Showtime has nabbed exclusive broadcast rights to rock doc “History of the Eagles” and will bow the two-part pic next month.

Documentary, helmed by Alison Ellwood, features never-before-seen footage of the Eagles and explores the history of the band. Alex Gibney produced the doc, while Blair Foster served as exec producer.

Part one will make its TV debut on Friday, Feb. 15, at 8 p.m., with the second part airing the following night.

Showtime acquired the documentary at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it officially premiered.
