Showtime Developing ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’

Bloom, McKenna to write, exec produce

Showtime will develop halfhour musical-comedy “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” from Rachel Bloom and “The Devil Wears Prada” writer Aline Brosh McKenna.

Bloom and McKenna (pictured) will exec produce the project, which comes with a significant commitment from Showtime, for CBS Television Studios. It centers on a woman who upends her life to stalk an ex.

McKenna recently signed on to produce live-action Disney feature “Cruella” with Andrew Gunn, with Glenn Close exec producing, and has in production “Annie” for Sony and “Cinderella” for Disney.

Bloom’s writing credits include “Robot Chicken” and “Allen Gregory,” and also is known for her 2012 video “You Can Touch My Boobies.”
