Rupert Murdoch and Wendi Deng Murdoch are close to a settlement agreement that will end their 14-year marriage.
The New York Times reported Tuesday that the Murdochs are near an agreement that may be finalized at a hearing Wednesday morning in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan. Both are expected to attend the hearing.
The couple’s split is not expected to have any impact on the two media congloms that Rupert Murdoch controls, 21st Century Fox and News Corp.
The couple signed pre- and post-nuptial agreements that kept Wendi Murdoch and her two young daughters, Grace and Chloe, from gaining any voting control in the trust that controls the Murdoch family’s shares in both companies. Wendi Murdoch, a former News Corp. exec, will not have any ongoing business with either company after the divorce.
