Rob Lowe will play President John F. Kennedy in National Geographic’s telepic “Killing Kennedy,” it was announced today.
Based on a book by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard, “Killing Kennedy” centers on the assassination of JFK and will debut later this year, timed with the 50th anniversary of the prez’s death.
Ginnifer Goodwin joins Lowe in the cast as Jacqueline Kennedy, and Michelle Trachtenberg will play Marina Oswald. Nelson McCormick will helm the film.
Scott Free Prods. is producing “Killing Kennedy,” and Nat Geo will bow the drama in 171 countries in addition to the U.S.
Lowe and the cabler collaborated earlier this year, as he narrated Nat Geo’s miniseries “The ’80s: The Decade That Made Us.”
“Killing Kennedy” will begin lensing next month in Richmond, VA.
