Red Arrow chief shepherded shows like 'The Taste,' 'Lilyhammer'

LONDON — FremantleMedia has tapped Jens Richter, managing director of Red Arrow Intl., as CEO of its distribution arm FremantleMedia Intl.

A spokesman for FremantleMedia said: “Jens is an outstanding and dynamic executive with extensive knowledge and experience of the international distribution market, and we are really excited to welcome him to the team. Jens will be joining us when he completes his contract with Red Arrow.

“In the meantime, our talented team of regional executive vice presidents, made up of Jamie Lynn, Lisa Honig and Paul Ridley, will continue to run the day-to-day sales business with oversight from FremantleMedia Intl.’s COO Bob McCourt.”

FremantleMedia, which is part of RTL Group, operates in 22 countries, and produces more than 9,200 hours of programming a year. It also distributes more than 20,000 hours of content in more than 150 countries. Its shows include “Got Talent,” “The X Factor,” “Idols,” “Hole in the Wall,” “Take Me Out,” “Family Feud” and “The Price is Right.”

Red Arrow Intl. co-produces and sells a wide range of TV shows, including series like mob comedy “Lilyhammer,” starring Steven Van Zandt, reality formats like cooking show “The Taste,” which airs on ABC in the U.S., and miniseries like David Tennant starrer “The Escape Artist.”
