Queen Latifah to Host CBS Education Special

Special hails from Davis Guggenheim, Participant Media

Queen Latifah is set to host and narrate “Teach,” a two-hour spesh on CBS that will explore America’s education system.

Special, from Davis Guggenheim and Participant Media, will bow on the Eye Sept. 6 at 8 p.m.

“There is no profession more essential than that of an educator, and it’s time for all of us to embrace and celebrate their importance and contribution to America’s children,” said Queen Latifah.  “My mother was a teacher at the same high school I attended, and she was a great teacher who, in fact, was loved by all and played an important role in so many of her students’ lives.  I’m proud to be a part of ‘Teach’ and help to shine a light on the individuals whose job it is to motivate and mentor our most important resource.”

Guggenheim, an Oscar-winning documentary producer, added: “As the daughter of a New Jersey public school teacher, Queen Latifah knows first-hand the impact of great teacher. She brings that understanding and passion, as well as her own tremendous talent to this project.”

“Teach,” a film by Davis Guggenheim, is a Participant Media Presentation of a Pivot Original, and a Little Room production.  It was co-written with David Wild, executive produced by Jeff Skoll and produced by Lisa Zimble and Shannon Dill.

First few things that come to mind- 1 -Not a Queen 2- Not a Respectable Educated person like a REAL teacher; QL is an ENTERTAINER not an EDUCATOR, I don’t care how much dialog she can and has read- 3- My dad was a preacher, does this make me a profound enlightened minister, too? I think NOT let’s see QL’s CREDENTIALS besides being a RAPPER; as they say in the IPO NEW WORLD. To Directors- How many passes does QL get just to say a few paragraphs, she’s not the BEST spokesperson, now is she?
