Former IFC exec takes key programming role at new cabler

Participant Media has tapped Craig Parks as senior vice president of digital and live programming for the company’s forthcoming cable net.

In his new post, Parks will be responsible for digital content, interstitial content and live-multi-platform content for the yet-to-be-named cabler. He will also spearhead video content for as well as Participant’s YouTube channel, TakePart TV.

Parks will be based in Los Angeles and report to Participant TV topper Evan Shapiro.

“Craig has a unique talent for creating quality content that travels across platforms and caters perfectly to the media consumption of digital natives,” said Shapiro. “He is a key player in our strategy to adapt TV for the lifestyle of the next-generation audiences.”

Announcement comes a week after former Fremantle exec Holly Hines was hired as senior veep of scripted. Participant’s cable net will be geared toward millennials and debut this summer.
