Oxygen Renews 'The Face'

Oxygen has handed modeling competition series “The Face” a second season.

Announcement came in conjunction with MipTV, where the format is being featured.

“‘The Face’ brings a unique and authentic look into the modeling industry, along with our supermodel coaches and contestants delivering the passion, fashion, competition and drama that our audience was captivated by,” said Rod Aissa, senior veep of original programming and development at Oxygen Media. “We are excited to get back on the catwalk for season two as we bring in a few new twists along the way.”

Season one of the Shine America-produced program featured models vying for a contract with Ulta Beauty, with Naomi Campbell, Coco Rocha and Karolina Kurkova serving as mentors to the contestants. Campbell also exec produces the skein.

Finale of the show’s frosh run aired on March 26 and delivered over half a million viewers.

A U.K. version of the format, for Sky1, was confirmed last month. Shine International is distributing “The Face.”
