In his new role, Woodward will oversee programming across all platforms for the arts network as well as Ovation’s relatively new in-house production unit, Ovation Studios. Since its May launch, Ovation has produced network series including “The Art Of,” “Culture Pop” and “Broadway Bash.”
“Scott has a proven track record for developing, producing and programming highly rated original content, which is this network’s top priority,” said Ovation CEO Charles Segars. “He possesses the much-sought-after combination of creative and strategic thinking that will work well for our arts-focused network.”
Before joining Ovation, Woodward served as vice prexy, programming and production at TV Guide Network and was responsibly for the net’s 2004 re-launch. Previously, he was an executive producer at E! for domestic, international and online series and specials, and worked on series such as “Behind the Scenes,” “Extreme Close Up” and “Search Party.”
Woodward launched his career as a creative director in the marketing division at Columbia, and later launched his own production company, Scott Woodward Productions. He will report directly to Segars.
