Talkshow vet named showrunner of forthcoming series

“The Arsenio Hall Show” has found its exec producer, tapping Neal Kendall as showrunner on the forthcoming latenight talker.

“I am delighted and fortunate to welcome Neal Kendall to ‘The Arsenio Hall Show,’ ” said host and fellow exec producer Arsenio Hall. “I am a longtime fan of Neal’s work. His unique and diverse track record made this a very easy decision.”

Kendall, a talkshow vet, has produced shows including PBS’ “Tavis Smiley,” NBC’s “Later,” CBS’ “The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder” and CNN’s “Larry King Live.” His credits also include programming on Oxygen, MSNBC and Spike.

“The latenight talkshow environment has changed dramatically in recent years,” remarked Kendall. “I’m excited to bring a new perspective to the table.”

“The Arsenio Hall Show” is produced by Eye Prods. and distributed by CBS Television Distribution, in association with Arsenio Hall Communications Ltd. and Octagon Entertainment Prods.

The syndie talkshow will bow on Sept. 9.
