Promotional effort is part of tried-and-true TV-network outreach come autumn
In what is standard practice for many of the big broadcast networks in the weeks before the new fall TV season, NBC will distribute a preview show that will be hosted by actor Sean Hayes and the cast of his new Peacock sitcom, ‘Sean Saves The World.’
The half-hour ‘2013 NBC Primetime Preview Show’ is set to air between August 24 and October 6 on various media venues owned by network parent NBCUniversal as well as NBC broadcast affiliates. The network estimates the show will run more than 500 times over broadcast outlets, NBCU cable networks and digital venues. The preview is also being made available to the websites of the network’s owned-and-operated websites. American Airlines, with whom NBCU has a pact to run its content, is expected to air the show on board thousands of its flights around the world.
The preview show will offer a peek at new comedies ‘The Michael J. Fox Show,” set to debut Sept. 28; ‘Sean Saves The World,;’ set to debut Oct. 3; and ‘Welcome to the Family,’ set to launch Oct. 3. Also featured: dramas ‘The Blacklist’ slated to bow Sept. 23; “’Ironside,” scheduled to debut Oct. 2; and ‘Dracula,’ expected to launch Oct. 25). Returning series ‘Revolution,’ ‘The Voice’ and ‘Chicago Fire,’ will also be featured.
