Meanwhile, Peacock’s comedy casualties include White House laffer “1600 Penn.” Creator Jon Lovett tweeted: “It’s official. 1600 Penn is a cult classic.” Another frosh comedy, “Guys with Kids,” is also history.

Also axed after two seasons is “Whitney,” the rom-com starring Whitney Cummings, and “Up All Night,” which imploded last fall as the network tried to shift it from single-camera to multi-cam format.

Great– now just bring back BFFs and all the other GOOD comedies NBC has canceled in the last three years to make room for this crap, and we’ll have a Thursday night lineup once again.

NBC is great at developing comedies, but horrible at knowing which ones to keep and which to cancel.

  2. JonnyRotten says:

I laughed out loud about 1600 being called a “Cult Classic!” That was so awful, I can’t believe it made it on the air in the first place.

  3. I’m happy about Parks, but what about Community? I’m hoping they cancel it and Dan Harmon does a kickstarter season of it. The show definitely misses his voice right now.
