'Brenda Forever' examines awkward girl who grows up
NBC added to its pilot list Wednesday, picking up single-cam laffer “Brenda Forever” from exec producers Peter Tolan and Michael Wimer.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television and Fedora Entertainment, the show is co-written by David Lampson and Andrew Leeds, who also exec produce.
Stories from Brenda Miller’s past and present will be interwoven to give a unique portrait of how a chubby, awkward but incredibly confident 13-year-old grew up to be a 31-year-old woman who still marches to the beat of her own drum.
Tolan and Wimer have been busy of late. Their drama pilot “Rake,” also from Sony, stars Greg Kinnear as a self-destructive criminal defense lawyer.
