NBC Orders Futuristic Pilot from ‘Transformers’ Writer

NBC has ordered a pilot for “Tin Man,” a drama from Ehren Kruger.

From Universal TV, “Tin Man” is a psychological crime thriller set in the near future that focuses on a fugitive robot accused of first degree murder. The robot may hold the key to the future of human evolution, and a young female public defender is forced to fight for his cause.

Kruger, who has penned the screenplays for the “Transformers” film franchise, will write and exec produce “Tin Man.” Daniel Bobker and John Glenn will also exec produce.

    Sounds like Isacc Asimov’s ‘Do Electric Sheep Dream of Androids, as well as “I Robot.” So once again opting to go for a re-imagining of the work of someone else, as opposed to creating something fresh and original? That’s Hollywood for you. Not a single spine amongst the entire bunch of studio executives.
