NBC Extends Ryder Cup Rights Through 2030

Peacock has held Ryder Cup TV rights since 1991

NBC has extended its rights to televise golf’s Ryder Cup and Senior PGA Championship through 2030.

The agreement, which will bring eight more Ryder Cups to NBC, begins in 2015. NBC has held these rights since 1991. Nearly 500 million households globally tuned into the Ryder Cup in 2012.

Golf Channel will continue to broadcast the Senior PGA on its weekday opening rounds, with NBC picking it up on the weekend. Golf Channel will continue live coverage of all four rounds of the PGA Professional National Championship

NBC said it would bring a wave of complimentary programming to its Ryder Cup coverage.

“This multi-platform agreement allows our broadcast, cable, digital and regional platforms to work with the PGA on their prestigious events and important initiatives,” NBC Sports Group chairman Mark Lazarus said.

Added PGA CEO Pete Bevacqua: “In many ways, this is a transformational deal for the PGA of America. … There are wonderful synergies that will be explored.”
