NBC, Dick Clark Productions Team Up for ‘People Magazine Awards’

NBC is teaming up with Dick Clark Productions to air “The People Magazine Awards” in late 2014.

Show is described as a celebration and recognition of the year’s most influential and talked-about people in pop culture, celebrity and Hollywood that have fueled the country’s conversations.

The newly-created awards include Biggest Phenomenon of 2014, year’s Most Popular Person, the Most Stylish Person, Funniest Person, Sexiest Woman of 2014 and more. Viewers across the country will also have an opportunity to participate in a fan-voted award.

“There is no better barometer of the cultural events and top personalities of the world than People magazine,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment. “This awards show will bring to light all who have broken through the clutter to make their voices heard throughout the year.”

Just last week, NBC announced it was reviving the American Comedy Awards, which last aired 13 years ago.

You should consider the Drop Dead Diva creator, Josh Berman, his writers and the actors for an award. The story lines tackle issues in the news but it’s full of clean, wholesome, fresh drama and comedy with much loved musical scenes. Broadway actresses Brooke Elliott, Kate Levering, Margaret Cho join April Bowlby, Lex Medlin and Jackson Hurst deliver great performances in Lifetime’s Dramedy. Check it out and you’ll see what I’m talking about. This show is fantastic. Families can actually watch this together, the way families used to be able to watch TV. The show, the creator, the writers and the cast are so worthy of an award. Thank you.
