MTV Renews 'Teen Wolf,' Sets Companion

Series star Jill Wagner to host 'Wolf Watch' starting in January

MTV has renewed its drama series “Teen Wolf” for a fourth season, months before the second half of its third season bows in January.

The cabler has also joined the after-show bandwagon, greenlighting the “Wolf Watch” half-hour companion series that will air after each “Teen Wolf” seg. Series star Jilll Wagner will host.

News of the season four renewal and “Wolf Watch” debut news was revealed Saturday during the show’s sesh at New York Comic-Con. “Wolf Watch” will follow the template set by AMC’s “Talking Dead” and “Talking Bad” companion series with a talkshow format, appearances by other “Teen Wolf” thesps and other fan-bait fare.

MTV has ordered 12 segs for the fourth season. The remaining episodes of season three and “Wolf Watch” bow Jan. 6.

Based on the 1985 Michael J. Fox movie, MGM TV’s “Teen Wolf” was developed by Jeff Davis, who exec produces with Russell Mulcahy, Marty Adelstein, René Echevarria, Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley.
