Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous

Program debuted on MTV in early May

MTV’s scripted series “Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous” is being pulled after just one season.

The show’s star Bo Burnham tweeted about the skein’s cancellation earlier this week:



While “Zach Stone” received positive critical response, it failed to produce substantial ratings, eventually being relegated from primetime to MTV’s latenight lineup during its frosh run. Scripted show centered on a teen guy who hires a camera crew to follow him and his family around in an effort to achieve fame.

A spokesperson for the net said in a statement: “We are huge fans of Bo Burnham and the entire creative and talented team behind ‘Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous.’ After careful consideration of many factors, we have ultimately decided not to move forward with an additional season of the series. We wish Bo, the cast and the entire production crew the very best.”

The departing words from the cabler, however, didn’t stop the thesp from quipping on Twitter this afternoon:
