You’ll be seeing less and less of Jessica and Dana Brody when “Homeland” returns for its fourth season next year.
Variety has confirmed that Morena Baccarin and Morgan Saylor will not be returning as series regulars in the fourth installment of the Showtime drama. The original cast members’ roles on the show have become increasingly pared down as season three progressed this fall, with the focus of the political thriller’s narrative centering on Brody’s return to the States and a new overseas mission concocted by Carrie and Saul.
Saylor’s portrayal of Dana Brody proved to be a breakout role for the young thesp, though the character stirred up a great deal of internet abhorrence, with some sites dubbing the daughter of fugitive Nick Brody to be “the most hated character on TV.” Baccarin’s portrayal of Jessica Brody earned her an Emmy nom for supporting actress.
“Homeland” has seen its highest ratings in series history as it closes out its third season. Showtime renewed the program in October.
TVLine was first to report of the casting change.
