Miley Cyrus will perform a special live concert on NBC’s “Today” on Monday Oct. 7, and will also sit down for an interview with host Matt Lauer.

The interview will mark her first live TV sitdown since her controversial performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 25.

There’s no doubt the struggling “Today” pulled out all the stops to get the big interview in an effort to regain their top spot from “Good Morning America.”

Cyrus is doing a full-on media blitz to promote her new album, which comes out on Oct. 8. She’s hosting “Saturday Night Live” this weekend and her documentary for MTV, “Miley Cyrus: The Movement,” premiered last night.

She also graced the cover of the most recent issue of Rolling Stone.

What is sad most of all is that there is an audience for this. If there was not, we wouldn’t see this young woman dissolving into her own depravity. How sick there is anyone that would cheer her on and that she would, or even could be “proud” of herself. I heard an interview where she said this was nothing new and has been done before, but then said she was creating history. Which is it? Well, sadly, the former is correct. What type of intrinsic value of oneself does it take to act disgusting and worse to watch it and enjoy it. I’m humiliated for her and I’m ashamed of people willing to watch it. I aspire to be a person of integrity and inspiration to others…how is this any legacy or act of inspiration? A wise person learns from the mistakes of others and makes choices not to behave this way. A FOOL completely misses the point. All that can help Miley now are parents who won’t tell her what she wants to hear but will stand with her and tell her the truth. May God help them to help her before she humiliates herself for others entertainment any more.

Do you think it is wise to have her on your station? So many young people are going to be influenced to do wrong things because of her poor decisions. Would you want your daughter to be like her?

Miley needs to market to college aged kids and below. Rolling Stone, MTV, and SNL are good promo, but I’m not so sure the Today show, Fallon or Ellen will help.

  4. I wish she would pull her head out of her butt to see and hear how STUPID she is !!!!!! Certainly wish media would STOP giving her what she wants ATTENTION !!!! Better looking and better sounding talent out there.
