Mickey Returns to Mouse House in 2D Shorts

Beckoning to the iconic toon’s beginnings in the 1920s, Disney has announced the return of 2D animated shorts featuring Mickey Mouse.

Series, comprised of 19 cartoon shorts, will roll out on June 28 on platforms including Disney Channel and Disney.com. Paul Rudish serves as exec producer and helmed the shorts along with Aaron Springer and Clay Morrow. Joseph Holt is the art director.

A special preview of “Mickey Mouse” is already available online now.

Mouse House dubs the toon shorts “fresh and contemporary” while “at the same time [an] homage to the art direction and storytelling of Walt and his animators in the 1920s and ’30s.”

Shorts will feature appearances by other Disney favorites including Minnie and Donald.
