Judge Judy also slated to guest as anchor tries to draw notice during program's debut week

Newly christened Fox News Channel primetime host Megyn Kelly is slated to interview ABC “World News” anchor Diane Sawyer during “The Kelly File” at 9 p.m. Friday, part of an effort to gain attention for the program in its first week.

Fox News said Kelly and Sawyer were expected to discuss Sawyer’s exclusive interview with 16-year-old Malala Yousafzai, the young Pakistani woman recently awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts to attend school, which drew the ire of the Taliban. They will also discuss how the news business has changed over the years.

As part of the same program, Kelly is scheduled to interview Judge Judy Sheindlin, the popular barrister of the syndicated “Judge Judy” program. The two will discuss topics including current negotiations in Congress over raising the debt ceiling.

Fox News launched “The Kelly File” Monday as part of a rejiggered primetime lineup, the first time the network has altered its primetime schedule in more than a decade.

Megyn, your comment about wanting to improve yourself in all ways when you were referencing Malala was beautifull. I too, am in awe of her. May you be blessed in this new time and may it bring you to the place in invision for yourself. God bless.

Kelly hit a home run on this part of her journey. We are all better off for her. Her selection of guests Malala, Judge Judy and Sawyer to lead the talking subjects was inspired. Few are able to know serendipity when they see it, let alone report on it.

Unlike Bill Oreilly Kelly does not trump her guests comments and lets her guests complete a sentence. She is a breath of fresh air.

    Thank you Fox News!

Kelly, I love your show and you are simply beautiful. I also admire Judge Judy’s no non-sense approach in the court room. Years ago, I was out of work and applied for walfare. I felt so rotten inside for being in such a terrible situation. I remember calling my grandmother who lived a thousand miles away and cried because I felt so sad. In her wise wisdom, she told me not to feel any shame as I’ve worked for years and did so even as a kid, I had part jobs after school. She said, I have been paying into this system for years and now I need the help and that’s what welfare intended to be used for in the first place. It was not designed to be a lifestyle and I understood that so didn’t feel so bad. I received two payments, and than found work. So, I agree with Judge Judy the government should not be keeping capable people on assistance if their not actively trying to look for work or furthering their education.

I am looking forward to have access to this program on my Roku in the same manner that I am able to watch at my leisure other FOX programs the following day on which they are aired.

    • Megyan,

Thank you for your interview with Diane Sawyer. That lead-in reminded me to watch this story on Malala. I have been to India several times and I recall their struggle. Yes, Malala is amazing. I find her story amazing. And, no distraction to Hannity following your show, I taped it. As a teacher, her story touched a cord with me. Also, I welcome your connection to break thru polarized media by having Diane Sawyer on your show. It is obvious how much the two of you respect each other. Now if we could collaborate more often on the facts, our world of opinion would be much larger. Your perspective is refreshing. I enjoyed you on your daytime show and now I look forward to your evening program. I send you and your family best wishes for continued success.

Thank you for doing such a good job!

      Joanne
