Witt Thomas Harris reunion with Betty White, Mitch Hurwitz also set for Comedy@SCA confab

Veteran TV helmer James Burrows will be feted by USC at the school’s second annual Comedy@SCA festival set for Nov. 9-10.

Burrows will receive the School of Cinematic Arts’ Jackie Oakie and Victoria Horn Oakie Masters Award for Comedy in recognition of his long run as a top sitcom helmer. As part of the confab, Burrows will reunite with “Friends” alum Lisa Kudrow for a conversation on Nov. 9.

Other highlights of the fest sked include a reunion of the principals in Witt Thomas Harris, the banner behind such 1970s and ’80s hits as “Soap,” “Benson” and “The Golden Girls.” Joining Paul Witt, Tony Thomas and Susan Harris on the panel will be “Golden Girls” star Betty White, director Jay Sandrich and Mitch Hurwitz, the “Arrested Development” creator who worked on “Golden Girls” early in his career.

On Nov. 10, Conan O’Brien, Greg Daniels and MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell are among those slated to take part in a panel sesh about the Harvard Lampoon’s impact in Hollywood.
