Comedy Central has inked a multiplatform development deal with comedian Hannibal Buress, it was announced today.
“Hannibal Buress has one of the great names in comedy,” said Kent Alterman, prez of content development and original programming at the net. “I pray he doesn’t change it.”
Deal includes a recurring role on Comedy Central’s forthcoming scripted skein “Broad City,” along with a pilot commitment that calls for Buress to exec produce. Buress will also do an hourlong stand up spesh for the net, produced by 3 Arts.
“This is really exciting,” quipped Buress. “I can finally quit my day job at Quiznos. People talk down about the Illuminati a lot but this is proof that membership has its benefits.”
